Rang Mahal translating to “Palace of Colours”, is a couture collection deeply inspired by the regal and dreamlike aspects of India’s royal heritage. The collection draws on forty iconic elements from India’s illustrious history, evoking the grandeur of royal palaces, the opulence of lavish lifestyles, and the intricate artistry passed down through generations. Luxurious fabrics such as silks, velvets, and detailed embroideries are central to the collection, each piece meticulously crafted to reflect the timeless elegance of India’s royal courts.
Falguni Shane Peacock and Swadesh have collaborated to create unique ensembles displaying a range of exquisite sarees. These sarees feature textile-led crafts such as Kanjivaram silks, renowned for their luxurious texture and intricate motifs, woven with real gold and silver zari threads. The collection is distinguished by the FSP monogram woven into the saree and dupatta borders, making them truly one-of-a-kind weaves. In addition, the capsule includes Banarasi brocade lehengas and Chikankari, seamlessly combined with Falguni Shane Peacock’s signature aesthetics. This is the first time the designers have worked with Indian weaves and textiles, highlighting the unparalleled skill and craftsmanship of indigenous weavers.
Drawing inspiration from majestic symbols such as resplendent parrots and peacocks, serene swans, powerful horses and elephants, and the magnificent tiger, Rang Mahal also features elements like mystical palaces, traditional diyas, the melodious sitar, sacred banyan trees, expressive mudras, fragrant roses, spiritual conchs, revered cows, intricate paisleys, Kashmiri threadwork, and the unparalleled beauty of the Taj Mahal.
The collection stands as a tribute to India’s rich heritage, bringing these timeless symbols to life through the impeccable craftsmanship of master artisans.
