1) WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT FASHION OBSESSION WHILE STYLING?
“It is always accessories. I am not really into clothes as much, which is an odd thing to say for a stylist. I do a lot of jewellery campaigns right now. The second thing I am really into is overlays. Like jackets, capes and basically just adding on stuff. It is always accessories.”
2) WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION? WHAT KEEPS IT GOING?
“I actually don’t know where I find my inspiration from. It could be a page in a book I’ve read, it could be a Korean TV show that I recently watched, it doesn’t come that much from street. I know a lot of people are inspired by the streets. For me it is films, books, music, people I see around me (friends, co-workers, designers), things that I see happening on the scene and stuff like that. Nothing specific as such.”
3) WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO INSTANTLY UPGRADE YOUR OUTFIT?
“Accessories, my god! A big chunky necklace, statement bracelet, a killer pair of heels, a bag in a different colour like a burgundy or marsala etc. It could lift up a simple outfit like t-shirt and jeans. I always believe in comfort. For me that one element that is always going to make a statement is always an accessory.”
4) FASHION WISE, WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR 2019?
“Fashion has been moving into the space of athleisure, casual in a formal setting and pajama suits becoming appropriate for cocktail dressing. I love that idea of just having comfort in what you are wearing, no matter what the occasion is.”
5) WHAT WOULD BE YOUR TIPS TO SOMEBODY WHO WANTS TO BE A CELEBRITY STYLIST?
“I think you need to treat celebrities like real, normal people. You have to be open to arguments and discussions. You have to put your point across and be clear about what you want them to look like. A lot of times, celebrities are very stuck in the image that they are creating for the public. I think it is a stylist’s job to convince them that sometimes changing it up is the good way.”
