Khushi Singh is the perfect scion to Percept Pictures. Besides inheriting the entrepreneur gene, she had the required passion and vision for it. With a Masters in Fashion & Luxury Brand Management from the prestigious Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy, Khushi had the skill, expertise and aesthetic to helm Percept Weddings, which was coined in 2014. In her prolific career, she has designed the Puravankara Wedding in Bangalore, the Vellodi & Reddy Wedding in Chennai, the Agarwal Wedding in Mumbai, the Aqeel Wedding in Chennai, the Gupta Wedding in Jaipur, the Lord Paul’s Grandson – Akhil Paul’s Wedding in Budapest and the most recent and extravagant wedding of Tanya Ganwani and Rajiv Varma in Montreux, Switzerland. Right from the conceptualization to the very last farewells – it is all orchestrated by the brand. In a feature story for The Peacock Magazine, Khushi talks about the process of wedding planning, her most memorable wedding and the role she plays at Percept Weddings.
1) AFTER NAVIGATING THROUGH MULTIPLE ROLES AT PERCEPT, HOW DID YOU ZERO IT DOWN TO HEADING PERCEPT WEDDINGS?
“So I look after the luxury events and weddings at Percept. It was actually quite organic for me. I did a year of education in Milan which is when I got back to my love for luxury events. That, coupled with my education in luxury management lead me into the wedding space. I did my first high profile wedding 6 years ago and I haven’t looked back.”
2) HAVING ORCHESTRATED SOME OF THE HIGHEST PROFILE WEDDINGS OF ALL TIMES, TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR ROLE IN IT?
“We actually do everything. It’s an end-to-end wedding planning and event management company, so from the day you decide to get married until you bid your last guest good bye and everything that comes in between, we will take over and do it for you.”
3) THE MOST MEMORABLE WEDDING DESIGNED BY YOU?
“It would have to be a wedding we planned last summer. It was extremely special as this was the wedding we designed for Tanya Ganwani and Rajiv Varma in Montreux – a small town in Switzerland. It was absolutely stunning and super picturesque and has been the most memorable wedding so far.”
4) HOW LONG IS THE PROCESS AND WHAT IS IT LIKE?
“The wedding planning process can range anywhere between a couple of months to a year. There are clients who come to us almost a year in advance. We take on the project from the start to end, but there have been weddings we’ve put together in duration of two months, everything for a destination wedding.”
