‘Spontaneous, raw, colourful, confident lines’— that’s how Scottish fashion illustrator and artist Jessica Bird would describe her art and her aesthetics. With a background in fashion design and having studied at the Gray’s School of Art, Bird went on to work with several British design houses across design, press and sales, before settling down to become a full-time fashion illustrator. Her forte lies in capturing the backstage scenes of a fashion show and the key looks from the runway. Her live illustrations are brought to life on canvas with her signature use of brightly coloured, chalk pastel drawings with spontaneous charcoal lines. Bird’s illustrious clientele include Armani, Scotch & Soda, Lee Jeans, M&S, Matches Fashion and fashion magazines such as ELLE Canada, The Rake Magazine, and the likes. She has also illustrated for several noted luxury global brands.
