It was a night of festivities, philanthropy and fashion!
A little ahead of the onset of the Diwali season, the prestigious Pierre Hotel in New York City, nestled on the renowned 5th Avenue, lit up with the Diyas and luminaries aplenty as Falguni Shane Peacock and Anjula Acharia, among others, successfully co-hosted the second edition of the “All That Glitters Diwali Ball.” This festive affair, in the honour of the Festival of Lights, drew together a splendid assembly of notable guests from diverse backgrounds, coming together in the opulent ballroom beneath the resplendent chandeliers of the Pierre Hotel.
Anjula Acharia, in collaboration with co-hosts Falguni Shane Peacock and Anita Chatterjee, orchestrated an evening of star-studded events attended by notable personalities such as Diane Kruger, Georgina Chapman, and Adrien Brody and the like. The theme for the evening, “Modern Raja and Rani,” set a regal tone as attendees adorned themselves in magnificent Lehengas by Falguni Shane Peacock, jewels, Kurtas and Sherwanis. The glamorous sartorial sight was curated by co-hosts Falguni Shane Peacock, who dressed a majority of the guests.
The night unfolded with a dazzling display of Diwali-themed decor in The Pierre’s Rotunda room, featuring ornate murals and a breathtaking floral arrangement of white hydrangeas and cherry blossoms, tastefully produced by Exquisite Events. AATMA Performing Arts graced the occasion with groovy dance performances, and Sarita Choudhury delivered a moving address emphasising the significance of Diwali in promoting unity and compassion. In a philanthropic gesture, Anjula Acharia took to the podium to announce a donation of $25,000 to ‘Doctors Without Borders.’
After a delightful cocktail hour, the dance floor came alive with a spirited dance-off, featuring singer-songwriter Jean Sean, who set the stage ablaze with his famous numbers. The energetic atmosphere reached its pinnacle as attendees celebrated the spirit of Diwali throughout the night, culminating in a buffet-style feast of South Asian cuisine, featuring Samosas, Pakoras, Pani puri, and more.
Chivas Regal, the presenting sponsor, mirrored the essence of Diwali by representing the celebration of blending different elements. Chivas Regal XV, aged 15 years and selectively finished in French Cognac casks, elevated The All That Glitters Diwali Ball with its signature serve, the “All That Glitters Gold Rushes,” made with Chivas Regal XV, honey, and lemon.
The All That Glitters Diwali Ball at the Pierre Hotel was an unforgettable evening marked by glamour, opulence, and the true spirit of celebration, bringing together celebrities, VIPs, and hosts in a symphony of cultural unity and festive joy.
