FABULOUS KAJOL
Are you even a 90’s kid if you haven’t secretly danced to iconic Kajol songs? (cue: mere khwabon me jo aaye) or imitated her tongue-and-cheek banter from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham? Let’s be real we’ve all had the Anjali hairband clad hairdo for a good part of our childhood. Being one of the path-breaking actors of our time, she has given more stellar performances on celluloid than you can possibly remember. Kajol inherited her mother Tanuja Mukerjee’s drop-dead good looks along with her striking screen presence.
Having made her debut almost 2 decades ago, Kajol fans are still as excited for every selective project she’s a part of as they were back then. The power performer has managed to keep her audience entertained over the years with her ability to portray characters in a way only she can. Whether it was her early innocence in DDLJ, or the relatable raw wit in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the actress has left an imprint with every exemplary on-screen appearance she made. Although the world has always been biased towards her reel life chemistry with Sharukh Khan, her real life camaraderie with Ajay Devgn is what marriage goals are made of.
In her long-period in the industry, the starlet has been awarded innumerable times but the closest honor to her heart will always be the Padma Shri award (the fourth highest civilian honour of the country) she received in 2011. Known for her unfiltered and unapologetically honest image, Kajol has been breaking stereotypes way before they were being acknowledged. She changed the game for many upcoming actresses who came after her. The veteran star got married early in her career, but that didn’t change a dime about her stardom. She continued to play legendary characters in some of the biggest movies like Fanaa and My Name is Khan.
