Entrepreneur and fashion influencer, Juhi Godambe is a true new-age fashion force for the millennials. After choosing fashion as her major subject, she decided to kick start her career with a fashion blog, and grew further with her brand, ‘Arabella’. Godambe’s content is niche and well-curated, her blog is a reflection of her individuality, which is something that resonates with her 272k followers on Instagram. At the launch of the #iamfsp2.0 campaign, Godambe styled her quote bearing t-shirt with a short, sleek, leather skirt – staying true to her street-chic aesthetic. Juhi also gave us an insight along with some well-thought advice on how to nail the street-style game.
1) WHAT ARE THE FACTORS THAT COME IN PLAY WHILE EXECUTING A STREET-STYLE SHOOT?
“First of all, what you’re wearing is super important, you need to be true to yourself, and then again the correct background where you are also matters. I feel like when you’re travelling it’s super easy to shoot street-style because no matter where you put your camera everything looks great.”
2) IF YOU HAD TO BLEND HIGH-STREET WITH COUTURE, HOW WILL YOU STYLE YOUR LOOK?
“For example, I would pair a couture skirt/lehenga with a really cool t-shirt and just mix it up, balance is the key.”
3) IF YOU HAD TO SHARE ONE ADVICE ON GETTING YOUR STREET-STYLE RIGHT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
“You need to be true to yourself and be comfortable in what you’re wearing it shouldn’t look like you’re trying too hard. The look needs to be balanced, if you’re opting for something that’s really out there, keep your accessories minimal or vice versa.”
4) HERO PIECES FROM YOUR WARDROBE THAT YOU CAN ALWAYS STYLE DIFFERENTLY?
“My jeans, I feel like denim can be styled in a versatile way. I wear my jeans the most when I’m shooting street style looks.”
5) DO YOU THINK MILLENNIALS RELATE TO STREET STYLE MORE THAN THEY RELATE TO COUTURE?
“Definitely, street style is for everyone and couture is more specific to those who enjoy high-end fashion. Street style is something that everyone loves.”
